First of all, if you're looking for a precise, step-by-step guide to failing well, then I sincerely hope this won't be it. Judging by the choices I've made, situations I've landed myself in and my current mindset, this may simply be a useful point of reference if you do not want to fail, or if you've failed but don't want to fail too badly. I've tied myself up in knots already. I would have called this blog "Just Some of the Pitfalls You Might Want to Avoid in Life" but I didn't think it particularly catchy.

Self-depreciation aside, I feel that I may have something to offer you. No, really. Yes, I know there are plenty of single, 31 year old women struggling to find permanent work, let alone a real job, who may have already turned to blogging and blogging well, but I'm hoping the specifities (is that a word? It is now) of my situation may serve to delight, amuse and maybe even make you feel a little bit better about your situation. Failing that, you may find you have something that may benefit me. A little tale of woe of your own, or perhaps a well-deserved mental slap (I'm open to these, where constructive - although a thigh or a buttock would probably be preferable).

For me, I am hoping this may provide some element of catharsis, some way of reminding myself that things really aren't so bad (they really aren't), to take the load off my friends and anyone who is kind enough to listen to me at the moment. I'm hoping that this will be the first step towards success, love, money, shoes. How to beat failure through self-expression, or something. Anyway, I'm a disgusting slacker - I'll do absolutely anything to avoid the filing.
